New Steam Hardware

  After months of rumors and some pretty convincing hardware leaks, Valve has   announced new Steam hardware   to be released in "early 2026." In particular, they are releasing a Steam Controller, an updated Steam Machine, and a VR headset called the Steam Frame. Last Wednesday, I was walking my dog when I got a Discord notification from the  Refurbished Steam Deck Notifier  server that I joined earlier this year. Originally, I joined to watch for refurbished Steam Deck restocks before I bought my own. After I got one, I turned off restock notifications but stayed in the server in case friends were interested. With individual restock notifications disabled, I didn't frequently get updates from this server. I considered leaving the server entirely, but after I read the alert, I'm glad I didn't. Steam Deck and PC Gaming

I am fiending for a Steam Deck, and I’m not even ashamed about it. Although I have discussed before how there is a time and a place for consoles , I’m finding myself gravitating more toward the idea of PC gaming lately. I’m not saying that I’m done with console gaming; I still think the Nintendo Switch is probably the best gaming console ever made from the perspective of form factor. A single device that can be both a handheld and traditional console is amazing, and my family leverages that capability to great extent. And maybe that’s why I’m now becoming more interested in PC gaming specifically with the Steam Deck. Effectively, it’s the PC equivalent of a Nintendo Switch. It can be a handheld, you can dock it for a more stationary experience, and the OS seems to be very much geared toward browsing a game library and selecting something to play. Review - The Elder Scrolls IV - Oblivion Remastered

“ The Elder Scrolls IV - Oblivion Remastered ” is a 2025 remaster (go figure) of the 2006 action RPG "The Elder Scrolls IV - Oblivion." Oblivion came out originally on Xbox 360 and PC, which I had neither at the time. It came out later on PS3, but for whatever reason I never bought it. Oblivion Remastered was my first opportunity to play through this classic on my own. But wait. This is a remaster of a nearly 20 year old game, the fourth of a pretty popular series. I feel like I need to roll it back and give some context on the series as a whole, in addition to my own personal context. I've often said that Morrowind was my first Elder Scrolls game, but that's perhaps a bit misleading. Morrowind was the first game in the series that I personally owned. Oblivion was the first one that I played, and I didn't buy Morrowind until after I had played Oblivion on a friend's 360.
